📖 What is Voicemeeter Banana?

A virtual audio mixer for Windows that brings your mic, game audio, background music, and everything else together on one screen. It offers three physical plus two virtual inputs and three physical plus two virtual outputs, an 8-channel, 6-cell full parametric EQ, a tape deck for recording and playing back audio, and VBAN for sending audio over your LAN. Its biggest strength is splitting what viewers hear and what you monitor across the A and B buses. It is donationware with every function available, and it supports Windows XP through 11 as well as ARM64.

With game audio, background music, and your mic all in one mixer, mid-stream tweaks like "drop the music a little" happen right there without touching OBS. It shines when you want Discord call audio or working music on the A bus for your ears only while viewers get the B bus. You can also run a parametric EQ on your mic to shape your voice for a karaoke stream, or use the tape deck to record the day's audio and listen back afterwards.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Get the Voicemeeter Banana installer from the official VB-Audio site, and restart Windows after installing as the setup instructs.
2. Step 2: Assign your mic and other physical sources to the HARDWARE INPUT slots at the top, and set your headphones or speakers as the "A1" output.
3. Step 3: In Windows sound settings, set the default playback device to "VoiceMeeter Input (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO)" so game audio and music flow into the virtual input.
4. Step 4: Balance levels and tone with each channel's fader and the 8-channel, 6-cell full parametric EQ, then switch each source between the A bus (your own monitor) and the B bus (your stream).
5. Step 5: In OBS, add an Audio Input Capture set to "VoiceMeeter Output (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO)" so only the audio you want on stream gets sent.
