📖 What is molz?

A dress-up app for building chibi-proportioned 3D avatars on your phone. Pick a face to create an avatar, then style it with a wide range of fashion items. It supports VRM export through VRoid Hub, and you can shoot random poses and share to X. Updates keep adding new clothing items, making it a fit for streamers who want mini-character material without a PC. Requires iOS/iPadOS 14.0 or later; free at its core with in-app purchases.

💡 When to Use It

A good fit when you want a small, cute avatar with chibi proportions rather than a full-height 3D model, made entirely on your phone. It works well as a sub-character for streams, an announcement image for social media, or mini-character material for an event. The other case is prototyping before you move into VRoid Studio or Blender: try out directions for outfits and faces quickly on your phone and carry it through to VRM use via VRoid Hub, which makes it a good entry point for beginners not yet comfortable with PC production.

🚀 How to Use

  1. Step 1: Install molz from the App Store and launch it on an iPhone or iPad. If you intend to use VRM export, prepare an account you can sign in to VRoid Hub with beforehand.
  2. Step 2: Pick a base from the several face patterns and start building your chibi-proportioned avatar. Match the hairstyle, facial details and colouring to the impression you want on stream and social media.
  3. Step 3: Combine outfits and items on the dress-up screen, including mission rewards and purchased items. If thumbnail impact matters, keep an eye on the number of colours and the silhouette.
  4. Step 4: Use the in-app random pose shots to make images for sharing to X or for announcement graphics. If needed, bring the screenshot into an image editing app to add text and a background.
  5. Step 5: To use it as a VRM, export via VRoid Hub and check that it loads in the VTuber apps or metaverse services you use. Check each destination's supported VRM version and terms as well.
