📖 What is Advanced Scene Switcher?

A plugin that automates scene switching and source control in OBS Studio. You can register Conditions and Actions together as "Macros," using triggers like audio level, cursor position, date/time, hotkeys, media playback state, or process launch status to run scene switches, source show/hide, audio output control, and even HTTP requests — all hands-free. Works on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and is free and open source under the GPL-2.0 license.

💡 When to Use It

For anyone who wants to automatically switch to their game scene when they launch a game, and back to a chatting scene when they close it. Even during an FPS stream where you don't have a spare hand for hotkeys, the process condition alone handles the scene switch. It's also handy for automating time- and media-based conditions, such as switching to your main scene once the starting soon screen's BGM ends, or switching to an ending screen at a set late-night hour to wrap up the stream — letting a solo streamer hand off the switcher role entirely.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Get the installer for your OS from the SceneSwitcher release page on GitHub. Run the installer on Windows/Mac, or install on Linux with flatpak install com.obsproject.Studio.Plugin.SceneSwitcher
2. Step 2: Restart OBS Studio and open "Tools" → "Advanced Scene Switcher" from the menu. Enable the plugin in the General tab of the settings window
3. Step 3: Add a new macro in the Macro tab, and set a Condition trigger such as "when a game process launches," "when media playback ends," or "at a specified time"
4. Step 4: In the same macro's Action, line up actions such as "switch scene," "show/hide source," or "mute audio output." Multiple actions can be run in sequence using a Sequence Action
5. Step 5: Start automatic switching from the General tab and let it run. Check that it behaves as intended while streaming, and fine-tune condition thresholds and wait times as needed
