Advanced Scene Switcher

A plugin that automates scene switching and source control in OBS Studio. You can register Conditions and Actions together as "Macros," using triggers like audio level, cursor position, date/time, hotkeys, media playback state, or process launch status to run scene switches, source show/hide, audio output control, and even HTTP requests — all hands-free. Aitum Vertical (Vertical Canvas)

A free OBS Studio plugin that adds a vertical canvas (its GitHub name is Vertical Canvas). While you stream in landscape, you build a separate 9:16 screen and send only that vertical output to another destination or record it. The Vertical Canvas dock manages your vertical scenes, Linked Scenes keeps them in step with your main scenes, Backtrack saves the last few minutes as a clip, and there is a dedicated vertical virtual camera output. Alive Studio

A browser-based design service run by GMO Pepabo for building your stream screen. It integrates with OBS Studio's custom browser dock, letting you combine background and frame assets (400+ on the free plan, 1,700+ on Premium), 100+ sound effects, and 100+ BGM tracks from 魔王魂, to put together a full stream layout with zero design skills required. It also has interactive features to liven up your stream, like a topic roulette, counters, and timers. The Premium plan is ¥980/month with a 7-day free trial.

A free asset site for VTubers, streamers, and video creators. It offers 20,000+ assets — stream overlay frames, chat boxes, backgrounds, stamps, logos, schedule templates, and more — each with 5 to 40+ color variations. Free to use for individuals or companies, commercial or non-commercial, with no credit or usage report required (only merchandise sales require crediting the site name and URL). Redistributing the assets as-is, or turning the assets alone into merchandise, is prohibited.

BEIZ images

A free asset site specializing in backgrounds and textures. Browse color-sorted collections (white, black, red, blue, pastel, etc.) or categories like landscapes, wood grain, watercolor, Japanese-style, and decorative patterns for high-resolution images. No sign-up is needed to download, and commercial use is allowed (redistributing the assets is prohibited). Good for an understated background — a base for a flat single-color stream screen, a starting soon screen, a thumbnail, or under text overlays. Japanese Room / Streaming Room Background Assets (花森@背景イラストレーター | BOOTH)

Background illustration assets of a Japanese-style room and streaming room, drawn for VTuber stream layouts. The 1920×1080 transparent PNGs are split into three pieces — background, desk and drink — and layering your character between the background and the desk builds a screen with real depth, as though you were streaming from behind that desk. Over 400 clips — speed lines, party poppers, lightning, countdowns — are published as MP4 (some as mov) at “H.264/AVC: 1920×1080” and can be downloaded without signing up. Commercial use and use in monetized YouTube videos are permitted, and credit is not required. Redistributing the assets unmodified or selling them through stock photo services is prohibited. Good for scene transitions and small accents on starting soon screens.

Flood-Tuber

A PNGTuber plugin that runs inside OBS Studio 30.2 or later. It automatically swaps between idle and talking images based on your mic volume, and supports auto-blink, random actions, and APNG / WebP / GIF. Everything happens inside OBS with no external app needed. Free under GPLv2, for Windows 64-bit (the installer is unsigned, so a SmartScreen warning will appear).

A community-driven site that showcases and distributes free Japanese fonts. Browse by 8 typeface categories — kaku-gothic, mincho, handwritten-style, and designer fonts — or filter by supported character tags like hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Each font's page links straight to the source for download, with install guides for both Windows and Mac. Most fonts allow commercial use, but conditions vary (some restrict commercial use to personal projects), so check the license notes on each page before using a font in your stream thumbnails or logo.

It offers shader filters such as Manga (a manga-style effect), Dr.Glitch, and Old TV, plugins like a Health Monitor for watching stream status and Audio Reactive FX that responds to sound, and even OneComme comment templates, all for free. Each item is downloaded via its X (formerly Twitter) post.

いらすとや

An illustration distribution site known as the "Cute Free Material Collection." It has 150+ categories — children, occupations, illnesses, poses, and more — all downloadable for free. Handy for stream thumbnails, explainer slides, and chat topic images (commercial use is free for up to 20 assets per work; using 21 or more requires a paid arrangement, so watch your count if you use it heavily).

Mirin's Video Assets

A personal site distributing free video assets for streaming and video editing. Everything is organised by purpose — emotion effects, caption bases, transitions, sparkles, hearts, frames, YouTube end screens and small parts — and each asset comes in two formats: ProRes 4444 (mov) with an alpha channel, and H.264 (mp4) on a green screen. Free for both personal and commercial use, with YouTube monetization of videos using the assets permitted. Credit is optional.

Minchirie (みんちりえ)

A free asset site where independent creator Minchiri distributes background illustrations they drew. It offers 130+ realistic backgrounds of places such as schools, train stations, residential streets and restaurants (1920×1080, JPEG), most with daytime, evening and night (lights on/off) variants, plus a few abstract backgrounds like speed lines. Nerd or Die

Nerd or Die is an overseas store offering stream overlays, alerts, widgets and transitions for Twitch, YouTube and Kick. Its catalogue runs from free resources to one-time-purchase stream packs, and it supports OBS Studio, Streamlabs and StreamElements. ニコニ・コモンズ

A material-sharing platform run by Dwango. It hosts free downloads spanning music tracks, sound effects, full-body character art, speech bubbles, frames, backgrounds, video effects, and MMD-related assets, and it also consolidates derivative-work (fan content) guidelines. Usage terms vary by asset — some are restricted to use within Niconico Douga only — so checking the license before using something in a stream is essential.

Advanced Masks (OBS Plugin)

A free plugin that extends OBS's masking options. Combine shape masks (circles, stars, hearts, etc.), masks built from another source or image, and gradient masks. It lets you crop your avatar or stream screen into any shape you like, or apply color correction to just part of the frame. Supports Windows, macOS, and Linux.

OBS Background Removal

A free OBS plugin that uses AI to remove the background from your webcam feed without a green screen. You can choose from several segmentation models such as SINet, MediaPipe, and Robust Video Matting, and besides making the background transparent it supports background blur and video correction for dark rooms. Runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and can lighten the load using the GPU (CUDA / CoreML). Open source under GPL-3.0.

Composite Blur (OBS Plugin)

A free OBS plugin that adds high-quality blur filters. Add "Composite Blur" from a source's filter list and choose between four algorithms — Gaussian, Box, Dual Kawase and Pixelate — along with Area, Directional, Zoom, Motion and Tilt-Shift effects. An Effect Mask limits the blur to a rectangle or a circle, and setting a Background Source composites it cleanly against whatever sits underneath. Works on Windows, macOS and Linux.

Input Overlay (OBS Plugin)

An OBS plugin that adds a source showing your keyboard, mouse and gamepad input in real time. Keys light up as you press them, mouse movement and the scroll wheel are reproduced, and controller sticks and triggers are shown as well. Use the official preset layouts as they are, or build your own button placement and artwork with the bundled io-cct config tool. It also supports a WebSocket remote connection so a gaming PC can send its input to a separate streaming PC. Free and open source (GPL-2.0) for Windows and Linux; macOS is not supported.

Move Transition

A free transition and filter plugin for OBS Studio. Beyond the "Move" transition, which smoothly animates the position and size of matching sources when you switch scenes, it also includes the Move Source filter for moving sources without switching scenes, Move Value for changing numeric values, and Move Audio for changing audio. You can also set easing and curved paths. Works on Windows / Mac / Linux, GPL-2.0 (by exeldro).

obs-shaderfilter (OBS Shader Filter)

An OBS plugin that lets you apply your own shaders (OBS-flavoured HLSL) to any source. Right-click a source, add the "User-defined shader" filter, and load one of the 164 bundled samples (.shader) to get drop shadows, rounded corners, glitch, VHS looks, fire, zoom blur, audio-reactive effects and more. Every uniform variable in the shader shows up automatically in the properties panel as a slider or colour picker, and shaders you write yourself can be loaded too. Waveform (OBS Audio Spectrum Plugin)

An OBS plugin that draws the frequency spectrum of an audio source on your stream. Add the "Waveform Visualizer" source, point it at your mic or background music, and it renders a curve, bars, stepped bars, a level meter with an RMS mode, or an experimental waveform, while Radial Layout bends any of them into a circle. The three-colour gradient, FFT size and smoothing are all adjustable. Free and open source (GPL-3.0) for 64-bit Windows, macOS and Linux on OBS 27 or later.

OKUMONO

A Japanese site distributing free assets for stream screens and thumbnails. Thousands of pieces are organized by format — backgrounds, patterns, landscapes, frames, text, parts, stream parts, vertical formats, and templates — and you can also browse by mood or season, like "cute," "cool," or "horror." Commercial use is allowed for both individuals and businesses, with no credit or usage report required, and free editing such as recoloring or cropping. However, redistributing or reselling the assets themselves, selling merchandise built primarily around the assets, and using them for AI training are all prohibited.

OKUMONO +F

A free asset site run by Yodogawa specialising in decorative frames. A sister site to OKUMONO (backgrounds) and OKUMONO+V (video assets), it offers frames sized to drop straight into thumbnails and stream screens: squares, circles, fluffy shapes, borders, 16:9 frames, caption bars, speech bubbles, ribbons and corner flourishes. No account or notification is needed, commercial use is allowed and credit is optional. Edits such as recolouring and resizing are free, but redistributing or selling the assets on their own and AI training use are prohibited.

大鬼商店_唐揚丸

おててやさん

A free illustration site for VTubers and streamers specializing in "hand assets." Alongside hand-only pieces like hand signs, it offers over 170 assets total, including props such as food, microphones, and weapons, plus seasonal items for Christmas and Halloween. Most are free and commercially usable, while high-resolution and Live2D versions are sold on BOOTH.

Animated Overlay for Game Streaming: Double Line — たいらけとる Official Shop

A free animated overlay for game streaming where red and blue lines at the top and bottom of the screen swap colors roughly every 30 seconds. It's a simple single 1920×1080 GIF file — just add it as an image source in OBS to bring a bit of motion to your stream layout. One of Japan's largest free asset sites, distributing over 12 million photo assets and run by ACワークス (AC Works). With a free membership, you can search by keyword, category, or AI image search, then download in the size you need. Editing and commercial use are both allowed, and no credit is required. Free members are limited to 4 keyword searches and 3 AI searches per day, with a wait time before each download. A Premium plan is also available, offering unlimited search and downloads plus a license for use in merchandise.

サクソラまてりある

A site distributing free video assets for OBS and Streamlabs. It offers 576 free items including animated backgrounds, transitions, text overlays, and effects, plus alpha-channel MOV files for stinger transitions and transparent-background assets. Commercial use is allowed and credit is optional (though recommended). Reselling the assets themselves as your main content is prohibited. An additional 19 paid assets are sold on an external platform.

Shoost (Video Effects Tool | MuRo)

A Windows tool that adds high-quality effects like glow, rim lighting, and anime-style cinematography to VTuber and stream footage. A free, open-source, multi-feature plugin for OBS Studio. It includes Scene Organiser for sorting scenes with folders, search, and favorites; MultiDock for stacking multiple docks into one panel; Pro Toolbar, which keeps CPU, FPS, dropped frames, and bitrate on screen at all times; OBS backup, which saves your scene collections and profiles into a single file; and update checks for your installed plugins. Pick clocks, text, counters, YouTube chat displays, and more from templates, arrange them, then just paste the generated URL into an OBS browser source to see it live. No downloads and no usage fees — you even get free access to 15+ premium fonts, and you can pull in assets directly from its sister asset store, Sucomado.
