📖 What is Chatty?
An IRC-client-style chat app built specifically for Twitch. It supports multi-channel tab management, chat log recording, message highlighting, detailed color and font settings, and FrankerFaceZ / BetterTTV emote display. It's completely free and open source, and runs anywhere Java 8 or later is available. The UI is English-only.
💡 When to Use It
Good for when keeping a Twitch page open in your browser bogs down your PC and you just want a lightweight way to watch chat. It's easy to run your game full-screen while keeping just Chatty's chat window on a second monitor. Moderators watching over multiple channels can also use tab management and highlighting to avoid missing mentions. Since it has log-saving built in, it's also useful for keeping records when dealing with trolls after the fact.
