📖 What is DaVinci Resolve?
A professional-grade video production suite used on Hollywood sets, bundling cut editing ("Cut/Edit"), compositing ("Fusion"), color grading ("Color"), audio editing ("Fairlight"), and export ("Deliver") into one app. Even the free version handles Ultra HD (3840×2160) at 8-bit/60fps, plenty for stream clips and highlight reels. Need 10-bit/120fps or AI features? You can upgrade to the one-time-purchase Studio edition ($295).
💡 When to Use It
Use this when you want to clip the best 5 minutes out of a 3-hour game-streaming archive for YouTube or a short-form video. Trim the fat in the Cut page, add captions and sound effects, and your clip is ready. For a chatting stream where your webcam feed came out with dull skin tones, just adjust brightness and skin color on the Color page to make it more watchable, and balance out the volume gap between your voice and BGM in Fairlight.
