📖 What is Discord?

A community app for running text, voice, and video chat together on a server-by-server basis. Streamers can set up fan servers and use roles and channels to separate announcements, casual chat, and member-only spaces. Screen sharing (Go Live) also works well for small watch-alongs with viewers or for collab planning calls. Core features are free, with higher-quality streaming and extra customization available through paid Nitro.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Get the Windows / Mac / Linux app from the official download page, or open the browser version and create an account
2. Step 2: Click "+" (Add a Server) in the server list on the left, choose "Create My Own," and set a name and icon for your fan server
3. Step 3: Go to "Server Settings" → "Roles" to create roles like moderator and member, then set view/post permissions per channel for announcements, casual chat, collab planning, and more
4. Step 4: Create an invite link and post it in your stream description or on social media, then use a text channel for stream announcements and a voice channel to talk with collab partners
5. Step 5: Use the screen share button inside a voice channel to share your game screen or a window, for watch-alongs with viewers or checking things over before a collab
