📖 What is マシュマロ?

A fan-mail service for receiving anonymous messages from viewers. マシュマロ has AI that automatically removes abusive messages, which has made it the go-to way to gather material for chatting and advice streams. You can sign up with X (formerly Twitter), a Google account or an email address, and everything happens in the browser. Receiving and answering are free, but answers are capped at 100 characters; Premium (¥550/month, tax included) adds ad-free browsing, a 10,000-character limit, the "non-interference" AI mode, revealing censored words, private replies and LINE notifications.

💡 When to Use It

Use it when you want to collect anonymous fan mail from viewers for a chatting stream or an advice stream. The AI screens out insults, so even first-timers can open submissions without bracing themselves. Announce your submission URL before the stream to stock up on topics, and when conversation stalls you only have to open the inbox. Streamers who like to answer at length should consider Premium, which raises the answer limit to 10,000 characters.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Sign up at marshmallow-qa.com using X (formerly Twitter), a Google account or an email address
2. Step 2: Get your submission URL from "Collect Messages" on My Account and post it in your X profile, stream description or starting soon screen to point viewers to it
3. Step 3: Adjust who can send messages and which AI mode is active in settings (Premium members can also pick the "non-interference" AI mode, which does not auto-delete)
4. Step 4: Check the messages in your inbox and pick the ones to read on stream; report anything unpleasant to the operators with the "Report spam" button
5. Step 5: On stream, pull the answer page or a saved image into OBS as a Browser Source or Image Source and show it while you read it out
