📖 What is Webcam Motion Capture?

Motion capture software that tracks your head, expressions, gaze, and blinks — plus your hands and fingers — using nothing but a single webcam. It runs as two windows: "Webcam Motion Capture" handles the tracking and "Webcam Motion Receiver" displays the avatar. It loads VRM models as well as VRChat avatars, and you can switch between upper-body, full-body, and face-only modes. Every tracking feature is free to use; hiding the UI, sending over the VMC protocol, and saving FBX files unlock with a subscription.

Use it when you want to start streaming with a 3D avatar without buying tracking hardware. A webcam alone moves your hands and fingers, so you can gesture during a chatting stream or play up your reactions in a gameplay stream. On the free plan you can put it on stream just by grabbing the Receiver window with OBS's Window Capture, then move up to Spout2 or a subscription later when you want a transparent background — an easy way to ramp up gradually.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Get the installer from the official site and install it on a PC running Windows 10 or later, or macOS Catalina or later.
2. Step 2: Launching it opens two windows, "Webcam Motion Capture" and "Webcam Motion Receiver" — load your VRM file in the Receiver.
3. Step 3: Pick the webcam you want to use in the Capture window, choose upper-body, full-body, or face-only tracking, and set your pose.
4. Step 4: To use it for free, capture the Receiver window with OBS's Window Capture and place your avatar on the stream layout.
5. Step 5: For a transparent background, install obs-spout2-plugin and add a "Spout2 Capture" source, taking out a subscription along with VMC protocol output.
