📖 What is Bandicam?

A capture tool that records games, your PC screen, and external devices in high quality. You can switch between “Screen Recording Mode,” “Game Recording Mode,” “Device Recording Mode,” and “Audio Recording Mode” depending on what you need, and it can record DirectX/OpenGL/Vulkan-compatible games at up to 4K (3840×2160) and up to 480fps. It also supports recording game console or webcam footage, or just PC and mic audio on their own. Built for Windows 11/10/8/7 (64-bit). The free version limits each recording to 10 minutes and adds a www.BANDICAM.com logo watermark to the video.

💡 When to Use It

Use it when you want to keep the entire raw footage from a game commentary, or want a separate, high-fps, high-quality recording on hand apart from your stream archive. Since it can capture DirectX or Vulkan games at up to 4K and 480fps, it's easy to make clips or slow-motion moments afterward. In Device Recording Mode, you can record footage straight from a home game console or webcam through a capture card, which also helps when making commentary videos centered on console games.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Download and install the free version from the official site (bandicam.jp). It supports Windows 11/10/8/7 (64-bit), and a separate macOS version is also available.
2. Step 2: Launch Bandicam and pick the mode that fits your purpose from the top of the window: “Screen Recording Mode” for your PC screen, “Game Recording Mode” for games, or “Device Recording Mode” for console or webcam footage.
3. Step 3: In the “Output” tab, set the save folder, file format (MP4, etc.), frame rate, and quality ahead of time.
4. Step 4: In Game Recording Mode, the FPS counter shows in green once you launch the target game. From that standby state, press F12 (the default hotkey) and the FPS display turns red as recording starts.
5. Step 5: Press F12 again to stop recording, then check the file by playing it back in Bandicam's “Video” tab. Since the free version is limited to 10 minutes per recording plus a logo watermark, use the paid version for longer recordings.
