📖 What is Minchirie (みんちりえ)?

A free asset site where independent creator Minchiri distributes background illustrations they drew. It offers 130+ realistic backgrounds of places such as schools, train stations, residential streets and restaurants (1920×1080, JPEG), most with daytime, evening and night (lights on/off) variants, plus a few abstract backgrounds like speed lines. Commercial use and editing are allowed, with no credit or usage report required (redistributing or selling the assets themselves is not allowed). It also has mini tools for streams: a clock, an Amidakuji lottery and dice.

💡 When to Use It

When you do a chatting stream with full-body character art or a Live2D model, laying down a classroom at dusk or a residential street at night lets you easily set a mood that matches the topic and time of day. In TRPG session streams, you can swap in backgrounds like a station, a shrine or a shop interior at each scene change to build immersion. For picking teams or penalty games in a collab stream, you can show the Amidakuji or dice mini tools on screen.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: From the Minchirie top page, open "背景（写実系）" (realistic) or "背景（抽象系）" (abstract), or narrow down by place with tag buttons such as room, city, shop, school and outdoors, and find a background that fits your stream's theme
2. Step 2: On the asset page, check the terms of use (commercial use OK, editing OK, no redistribution, etc.), switch between daytime, evening and night variants with the thumbnails, and save them via each image's "DL" button or "一括ダウンロード（ZIP形式）" (bulk ZIP download)
3. Step 3: Add an "Image" source to your OBS Studio scene, place the 1920×1080 background at the very back, and layer your avatar from VTube Studio or similar, your full-body character art and your chat box on top
4. Step 4: To use the clock, Amidakuji or dice, open "配信向けミニツール" (mini tools for streams) in your browser, bring it in with Window Capture and key out the background color with a chroma key
5. Step 5: Credit is optional, but writing "みんちりえ (https://min-chi.material.jp/)" in your description supports the creator. When posting on Niconico, register the nc IDs listed on the asset page as parent works
