📖 What is Outplayed?

A free recording app that clips and saves your best moments automatically. It runs on the Overwolf client and supports over 5,000 titles. It detects in-game events such as kills and wins to save clips on its own, and also handles hotkey-driven manual recording and a per-match timeline view. The built-in editor trims and merges clips so you can share them straight to social media. Every feature stays free but shows ads, and a paid plan removes them and unlocks extras. Windows only.

💡 When to Use It

For making sure a great play never slips away because you were not recording. Leave it running in the background and kills and wins get clipped automatically, so after the stream you just pick what you want from the timeline. The other case is an archive too long for anyone to rewatch: merge only the per-match highlights into a video of a few dozen seconds and you have an entry point that pulls new viewers in from YouTube Shorts or TikTok.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Install the Overwolf client from download.overwolf.com and add Outplayed from its app store (it runs on Overwolf and will not start on its own).
2. Step 2: Open Outplayed and enable the games you want to record in the Capture settings. Set resolution, FPS, bitrate and the destination folder to match how you stream or post.
3. Step 3: Check which events trigger automatic capture (kills, wins, deaths and so on) and bind the manual recording hotkey to a key you can reach easily.
4. Step 4: Play as usual and clips pile up on their own. After a match, pick the moment from the match timeline and trim or merge it in the built-in editor.
5. Step 5: Share the finished clip straight to X, YouTube Shorts or TikTok, or save it locally to use as playback material in OBS or for a mid-stream recap.
