📖 What is ShareX?

A free capture tool for Windows. Besides multiple capture modes, full screen, region select, active window, and scrolling capture, it includes screen and GIF recording, plus an annotation editor for adding rectangles, arrows, text, and blur. Its powerful workflow feature automates post-capture actions (save, copy, upload) and hotkeys, with support for a wide range of upload destinations. It's completely free, open source, ad-free, and requires no account, available as a Setup installer or portable version, and also through the Microsoft Store or Steam.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Download the Setup or portable version from getsharex.com, or get ShareX from the Microsoft Store / Steam.
2. Step 2: In the "Capture" menu, choose a capture method, full screen, region select, active window, scrolling capture, and more.
3. Step 3: Use "Screen recording" for screen recordings, or "Screen recording (GIF)" to create a GIF (follow the ffmpeg setup prompt the first time).
4. Step 4: In the annotation editor that opens after capturing, add arrows, text, and blur to finish your explanatory image.
5. Step 5: Assign hotkeys to your most-used capture methods in "Hotkey settings," and automate save locations and upload destinations under "After capture tasks."
