📖 What is StreamYard?

A browser-based live streaming studio for streaming and recording, no software install required. Guests simply open an invite link to join, making it great for interviews and collab streams. You can display up to 6 people on screen (10 on paid plans), and set up logos, overlays, and lower-third banners right in the browser. The free plan shows the StreamYard watermark, limits stream length, and caps local recording at 2 hours per month. Multistreaming to multiple platforms requires the Core plan or higher at $44.99/month (annual billing is cheaper, and a free trial is available).

💡 When to Use It

Great for when you want to host an interview or collab chat stream with guests but can't ask them to set up OBS. Just send an invite link and they can join straight from their browser, while you run questions or announcements through a banner at the bottom of the screen. It's also handy on days you're streaming from a laptop on the go, or when you want to push a stream out to multiple platforms at once — you get the same layout every time without reinstalling anything.

🚀 How to Use

1. Step 1: Create an account at streamyard.com, then connect the channels you want to stream to — YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. — once from the dashboard's "Destinations" section.
2. Step 2: Choose "Create" → "Live stream," check the destinations you want to use, and enter a title and description. If you select multiple destinations, you can customize the wording for each one under "Customize."
3. Step 3: If you're not starting right away, use "Schedule for Later" to reserve a start time (note that scheduling doesn't auto-start the stream — you still need to open the studio on the day).
4. Step 4: Once the studio opens, choose your camera and mic, then set your logo, background, and banners under "Brand" in the left menu. Send the invite link generated under "Invite" to your guests, and they can join just by opening it in a browser.
5. Step 5: Click "Add to stream" on a guest's or camera's thumbnail to bring them onto the screen, and once your layout is set, hit "Go live" in the top right to start streaming.
